Daniel Bohbot originally launched Hale Bob in Paris in 2001 following a visit to Los Angeles in 2000.

He was always attracted by the magic of the celebrity lifestyle and Hollywood nightlife. While in West Hollywood, Daniel noticed LA girls, each with her own individual style, acting as movie stars and indulging in the glamour and sexiness that Hollywood has to offer. Stimulated by the celebrities original and creative styles, Daniel decided it was time to make this style available for everyone. After returning to Paris to create Hale Bob, Daniel realized Los Angeles was where all the fashion trends were originating form, LA was the ideal environment for him to create his vision. From his initial inspiration, Daniel brought his label, as a joint venture with brother, and founder of Bisou Bisou, March Bohbot, to Los Angeles, California in 2001.

Hale Bob's campaigns are themed around nightlife, parties and clubs. Daniel's vision has translated into a collection that is sexy and chic. He noticed a hole in the market for sexy tops, especially in a time when jeans were a staple piece for club wear and nightlife. Women needed that rich, unique, sexy top to pair with her favorite jeans for a night on the town. Motivated by the unique patterns from hand beaded Indian scarves, Hale Bob is a fashion forward, ethnic, boho look for the girl who knows what she wants. The Hale Bob customer exudes sophistication, confidence, and sex appeal. She stands out in the crowd with her distinctive fashion sense and loves that attention.

The Hale Bob name derived from Daniel's Hollywood inspiration means, "One star from the sky". Hale Bob is created for the brightest of all the stars, literally a comet, which comes once in a lifetime. Hale Bon or "Feeling Like a Star."
